The GDN Next Horizons Essay Contest is being held in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on the theme of the future of development assistance. The contest invites fresh thinking related to the future of aid that can inform the ongoing discourse on development assistance and to make this thinking available to policymakers and key stakeholders.
Essays of up to 5000 words are being invited in English, French or Spanish. The essays must explore innovative ways of making aid more effective and to shape the development assistance system of the future. Up to 20 winning entries will receive up to USD 20,000 each and some of the winning essays will be promoted by GDN and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The closing date is 15 September, 2014.
